MELBOURNE, Australia – Nissan Motorsport V8 Supercars driver Rick Kelly is the face of a series of commercials to promote the all-new Nissan Altima sedan.

Kelly, a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner and former V8 Supercars champion, is the star of five clips, which mix his dry humour with details of the refinement and technology packed into the Altima.

The Nissan Altima sedan goes on-sale for the first time in the Australian market from the first week of December 2013, following critical acclaim and sales success overseas, particularly in the United States.

Altima is an all-new entry in the medium passenger segment of the Australian new car market and is available with either a four-cylinder (ST, ST-L or Ti grades) or V6 (Ti-S) engine. See Nissan.com.au/Altima for more information.

The Altima name and sleek styling are already well known to Australians as a result of Nissan's factory entry in the V8 Supercars Championship, which saw the Altima V8 Supercars makes its racing debut in March 2013 at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia.

Nissan Motorsport fields four Altimas in the V8 Supercars Championship, driven by Rick Kelly (#15 Jack Daniel's Nissan Altima), brother Todd Kelly (#7 Jack Daniel's Nissan Altima), Michael Caruso (#36 Norton Nissan Altima) and James Moffat, who claimed victory aboard his #360 Norton Nissan Altima at Winton Motor Raceway in August, followed home by team-mate Caruso in second place.

The new Altima commercials, which comprise of a main clip, short hype clip and three information videos on comfort, styling and driver connection, can be viewed online and embedded into website articles and social media via YouTube.com/NissanAustralia.

Kelly, who also attended the global unveiling of the Altima at the 2012 New York International Motor Show and was a part of the car's Australian media launch last month, said that he enjoyed the unique experience of filming the Altima commercials, which were shot at Nissan Motorsport's state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne, Victoria.

"It was a lot of fun to film these Altima commercials with Nissan, right on the car preparation floor of the Nissan Motorsport workshop," said Rick Kelly.

"It's the same place we have been building and preparing our four Nissan Altima V8 Supercars for the last 12 months, so it was something very different to be filming with the road car, surrounded by a film crew rather than our team of engineers and mechanics."

"I had a chance to have a drive of the Altima road car at Phillip Island and it's a very refined, clever and comfortable machine.

"It was exciting to be at the launch of the car at the New York Motor Show last year, and now Australians will have the opportunity to drive this fantastic sedan.

"The Altima does everything well. There's a real sportiness to the drive, it's unbelievably comfortable and it has great options for consumers with a fuel-efficient four cylinder or a gutsy six.

"And having driven the Altima V8 Supercar for a full year, it's great that people will have the opportunity to own their own road version."
