BANGKOK, THAILAND – Nissan Thailand, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, recently donated a 1.0-litre turbo engine to Sirindhorn Children and Youth Training Center. The engine will be used as a valuable teaching tool in the school's automotive repair program, which provides vocational training to youth who are currently in the juvenile justice system.

"Nissan has been committed to contributing to Thai society for more than seventy years, and today we are pleased to continue our support for the Sirindhorn Children and Youth Training Center by providing a learning opportunity through our automotive technology," said Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand.

"Nissan's support for the automotive learning program is an important part of our effort to enrich people's lives. We hope that this donation will inspire and equip students with some of the best engine technology, allowing them to pursue careers in the automotive industry and make a positive impact in their communities."

Nissan Thailand has been providing six engines for the Sirindhorn Children and Youth Training Center since 2014 to use in teaching the automotive mechanic profession to the youth. In 2022, the company organized workshops on several types of modern powertrains such as 1.0-liter turbo, e-POWER and electric vehicle engines for the teachers of the center to prepare them with knowledge and understanding of modern automotive technology. The program provides hands-on training in automotive repair and maintenance, as well as soft skills.

The 1.0 litre turbocharged HRA0 engine that is being donated this year is designed to better meet customer needs and aligns with the global trend of downsizing engines while providing more power and fuel efficiency. This engine is used in Nissan ALMERA to deliver high performance and great fuel economy with low CO2 emissions, making it perfect for the modern urban Thai lifestyle.
