  • Australia's Best Cars award adds to global trophy cabinet for QASHQAI

BRISBANE, Australia – The Nissan QASHQAI has been announced as a winner at the 2014 Australia's Best Cars awards at a ceremony in Brisbane, Australia today.

The QASHQAI ST won the Small 2WD SUV <$35,000 category, continuing the global recognition for the multi-award winning crossover.

Nissan Motor Co. Australia Managing Director and CEO Richard Emery, who was on-hand at today's event to accept the award, was pleased to see the continued momentum for QASHQAI.

"Nissan is proud that the global success of the QASHQAI has now spread to Australia," said Emery.

"QASHQAI has enjoyed positive media reviews, strong consumer demand and fantastic support from our passionate dealer network since its Australian launch in July.

"This Australia's Best Cars award is another well-deserved accolade for QASHQAI, the newest member in Australia's most exciting SUV line-up."

The All-New Nissan QASHQAI, which was launched in Australia in July 2014, is also a global success story, with strong sales and rave reviews that include the European model winning the What Car? Car of the Year 2014 award in January.

QASHQAI recently made automotive history after production at the Nissan facility in Sunderland, United Kingdom passed two million units in less than eight years – reaching the milestone faster than any other model in the history of the UK car industry.

About Australia's Best Cars Awards
Each year, Australia's top motoring experts put the most popular cars through their paces in over hundreds of kilometres of rigorous road tests to determine Australia's Best Cars. The cars, ranging from small to luxury and 4WDs, are tested on some of the country's harshest roads and measured on a range of criteria, including handling, safety, security and value. Australia's Best Cars stand out from other car awards because the judging process incorporates as many measurable elements as possible. Basically, if it can be measured, it is. The trophies are awarded in 15 categories, many determined by price, so that all budgets are catered for.

Australia's Best Cars incorporates and builds on the expertise of the Australian Motoring Clubs including NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAA, RAC, RACT and AANT. For more information visit http://www.australiasbestcars.com.au
