Nissan Australia has recognised its elite Platinum Dealer group at a black tie gala event on the Gold Coast.

Fourteen dealer principals, and their key management staff, travelled from across Australia to Palazzo Versace on the Queensland south coast to celebrate their success.

"Platinum is about recognising the very best Nissan dealerships in Australia. The criteria for achieving Platinum status demands excellence in every area of a Dealership's operations", said Nissan Australia CEO William F Peffer.

"These dealerships embody the essence of the Nissan Way, not only in sales performance, but in their strong customer ethic as well."

Since its inception in 2005, 40 individual Nissan dealerships have achieved Platinum status.

"Nissan standards for our dealer network are high and keep getting higher each year, to the benefit of our entire network, our brand and our customers," said Peffer.

This year's Platinum achievers included Armstrong Auto Group (Qld.), Edney's Leongatha (Vic.) Huston Nissan (Qld.), Jarrett Nissan (SA), Macarthur Nissan (NSW) Midland City Nissan (WA), Muswellbrook Nissan (NSW), Nambour Nissan (Qld.), Northside Nissan (WA) and Preston Nissan (Vic.)

The ceremony also included the inaugural recognition of four State Dealer of the Year titles, those dealerships that achieved the highest overall performance rating across the performance criteria. They were Ray Mountney from Fennessy Nissan (WA), Craig Pearce from Ferntree Gully Nissan (Vic.) Chris Eschler from Great Lakes Nissan (NSW) and Warren von Bibra from von Bibra Gold Coast Nissan (Qld.).

The inaugural Nissan National Dealer of the Year award was presented to seven-times Platinum achiever Craig Pearce and his team from Ferntree Gully Nissan.

Nissan has recorded significant sales milestones of late, posting an all-time record in June. Growth is set to continue with four all new products entering Nissan showrooms over a nine month period. In June, the all-electric LEAF debuted; August will see the Almera sedan join the Micra in a two pronged attack on the light car market, with the all-new V8 Patrol and the highly anticipated return of the Nissan Pulsar arriving early next year.
