Jakarta – Nissan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Indonesia's state electricity company PLN and other industry companies to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and advance the EV ecosystem in Indonesia.

"Strong collaboration between public and private parties is vital to drive awareness and acceptance of EVs in Indonesia. Beyond building the charging infrastructure, this includes tackling misconceptions around charging and electricity use," said Isao Sekiguchi, president director of Nissan Indonesia.
Nissan announced earlier this year that the new Nissan LEAF will be available in Indonesia by 2020. Nissan has sold more than 430,000 units globally of the 100% electric vehicle since the world's first mass EV was launched in 2010.
