• Nissan as the first car brand that promotes family vacation destinations in East Kalimantan
  • With the All New Nissan Livina, the trip is even more exciting along with a variety of advanced features and comfort

Jakarta – With East Kalimantan being chosen as the new capital city, Nissan decided to explore some interesting family vacation destinations in the province, using the ideal family vehicle, the All New Nissan Livina.

As the first car brand to promote family travel in East Kalimantan, Nissan hosted the media for an exclusive test drive of the All New Nissan Livina, on December 5th and 6th, 2019. This trip was part of the "Cerita Livina" campaign aimed at exploring unique destinations throughout Indonesia with the All New Nissan Livina. In the previous trips, Nissan had visited Banda Aceh, the capital of the province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, and crossed the island of Java from Semarang to Solo and Yogyakarta.

"Nissan is proud to show that Indonesia's new capital region has so much to offer for family vacations and is also easily accessible by car – proven by this All New Livina test drive," said Isao Sekiguchi, president director of PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia. "This trip shows places that Indonesian families can visit, and we want to inspire our customers with the idea of traveling in the new capital city using the right family vehicle".

He added: "For more than 50 years, Nissan has provided mobility solutions for Indonesian customers. The All New Nissan Livina has proven to be reliable in various driving situations and overcoming the diversity of terrains in East Kalimantan."

The journey in the new capital city started from Balikpapan with a visit to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), a conservation area for orangutans. To reach the location, the All New Nissan Livina has to face a variety of terrains, from ordinary asphalt to dirt and gravel roads. While driving on slippery asphalt roads, Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control helps improve stability, providing safety and confidence for drivers.

BOSF, which was first established in 1991, is dedicated to preserving orangutans from the island. BOSF houses around 750 orangutans and the visitors can observe orangutans living in their natural habitat and see volunteers feeding orangutans. To support this conservation activity, Nissan donates tree seeds to be planted in the surrounding forest area, in order to help preserve orangutan's habitat.

Continuing the journey, the All New Nissan Livina cradled the participants with comfort during a 2.5 hours trip to Samarinda, the capital city of East Kalimantan province. It is thanks to the Smartphone Connectivity feature that allows participants to connect to their mobile phones and enjoy music during long journeys - even hours on the road seem to pass quickly.

The next destination is Desa Pampang, a cultural village just outside Samarinda. Pampang Village is one of the places known to represent the culture of Borneo. This place features local houses, dances, food and traditional clothes. Visitors can also 'taste' memorable experiences, such as dancing Dayak tribes with residents, wearing traditional clothing or enjoying local specialties. At this location, the Rear View Camera with Parking Sensor on the All New Nissan Livina is useful to help the driver when parking in front of the beautiful traditional Lamin Adat Pamung Tawai traditional house. The third interesting family vacation location is Bangkirai Hill. To get to this place, participants traveled more than 100 kilometers from Samarinda to Kutai Kartanegara District, a potential location for the new capital city. Aside from being a testament of the natural beauty of East Kalimantan, Bangkirai Hill is also an educational tourist spot for families in the lush tropical rainforest.

To reach the area, challenging uphill roads must be tackled. However, the Hill Start Assist feature makes it easy for both novice and experienced drivers to drive the car with confidence, providing safety when accelerating stop-go on uphill roads.

Other features of the All New Nissan Livina that can also be enjoyed during trips with family and friends are the spacious third row, one touch tumble, flexible seating variations, 17 storage compartments and electrical outlets - among other trendy features offered.
