• Nissan will hold pre-order sales of the total redesign sixth generation model The All-New Nissan Altima, at Nissan showrooms nationwide in Korea
  • Nissan in Korea's first vehicle to be equipped with a variable compression ratio engine '2.0L VC-Turbo engine'

Nissan Korea (CEO: Sung-joong Huh) has started pre-orders of the All-New Nissan Altima at Nissan official showrooms nationwide, prior to the official release of the vehicle in the Korean market.

The Nissan Altima, which first debuted in the global market in 1992, is the world's best-selling sedan with more than six million units in global sales, as of April 2019. Since the Nissan Altima fourth generation launch in the Korean market, the sixth generation model has been consistently popular due to its sophisticated design, high performance and advanced technology. The Altima has taken the number one place in annual sales among non-premium imported gasoline sedans in 2017 and 2018 in Korea, establishing its position firmly as Nissan's flagship sedan.

To celebrate the pre-order sales of the All-New Nissan Altima, Nissan will offer 600 pre-order customers an engine oil coupon which can be used for a whole life time. The All-New Nissan Altima will be sold in Korea in three trims. The S and SL Tech models come installed with 2.5L 4 cylinder direct injection gasoline engine. The 2.0 Turbo model is equipped with a 2.0L VC-Turbo engine. Pricing will be set according to the trim choice to provide customers the right grade and price to fit their needs, and will be within the range above 25 million Korean Won and under 50 million Korean Won.

"Nissan Altima is an important model for Nissan in Korea. We are very glad to be able to present the sixth generation Altima to Korean customers with its dynamic exterior and powerful performance. We will enhance our brand by changing the domestic midsized sedan market with the All-New Nissan Altima, to open a new horizon for midsized gasoline sedans," said Sung-joong Huh, managing director of Nissan in Korea.

The All-New Nissan Altima boasts driving performance beyond a family midsized sedan, completed with dynamic yet sophisticated design and human-oriented advanced safety and convenience features.

The biggest change in the All-New Nissan Altima is the installation of the variable compression ratio engine 2.0L VC-Turbo engine developed by Nissan for the first time in the world. The compression ratio can be adjusted through the advanced multi-link system between 8:1 and 14:1 according to the situation, offering powerful driving performance and high compression efficiency. The engine parts and design of the existing 2.5L direct injection gasoline engine have also been improved by more than 80%, providing a better driving performance as well as reduction in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the car delivers precise handling and driving performance through improvements in suspension and steering technology.

The overall design has been completed with a sharp and sporty exterior, inspired by the V-motion 2.0 Concept selected as the 'EyesOn Design Best Concept Car' at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show. A vibrant and stylish feeling has been added by applying Nissan's signature design factors such as the V-motion front grille and boomerang-shaped headlights. Nissan's unique design language 'Gliding Wing' has been applied to the interior, presenting a luxurious and open feeling with the horizontal instrument panel.

The All-New Nissan Altima is a model that truly embodies the Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision created by Nissan to move people to a better by transforming the way people drive and live. The vehicle safety and performance has been developed by applying major advanced safety technologies for front, back and sides. Such as the Safety Shield 360, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Distance Control Assist System and Intelligent Trace Control System. Also, NIM is being downgraded to some safety features, while in reality it's much more than that. NIM is our vision. The features mentioned are designed to give people a confident drive, as part of Intelligent Driving.

Finally, the All-New Nissan Altima has been awarded by various global media and organizations amongst cars of same class. These awards include, 12 Best New Cars for 2019 by Autotrader, the All-Star by Automobile Magazine and the Top Safety Pick+ for 2019 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. In addition, it has been selected as 2019 Drivers' Choice Award hosted by Motor Week, and the 2019 Editor's Choice Award hosted by Car and Drive.
