The Nissan LEAF on display at the Enerhiyang Atin mall activity

Manila, Philippines - Nissan Philippines takes another step forward in its electrification strategy by partnering with the Department of Energy (DOE) in its "Enerhiyang Atin" mall activities, an event aimed at educating the public on the responsible and efficient use of energy.

The thrust of the DOE project is to increase consumer awareness on the benefits of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) Act, a law that promotes and encourages the development and utilization of efficient technologies and systems. The law also institutionalizes energy conservation to ensure energy sufficiency and security in the country.

As an event partner and sole electric vehicle (EV) exhibitor, Nissan showcases its 100% electric, zero-emissions vehicle, LEAF, and its capabilities to provide energy management solutions.

"For Nissan, this is a great opportunity to promote our product and innovative technologies. This is also a welcome development for our electrification initiative, Blue Switch, as we partner with the DOE to encourage the use of EVs. We will continue to create significant linkages with relevant agencies and sectors, like the DOE, to help address social concerns such as energy management, ecotourism, and disaster response with the use of our EV technologies," explains Dax Avenido, General Manager of Communications at Nissan Philippines.

"Enerhiyang Atin" also features a consumer welfare booth, live panel with energy experts, photo booths, and displays from various partner organizations such as USAID. The interactive mall activities also showcase other products that are expected to improve our energy use as electricity consumers. Nissan's exhibit at the "Enerhiyang Atin" mall display started its run in SM BF Parañaque last May 4 to 8 and continued in SM City Olongapo and SM City Cebu last May 18 to 22. The display is currently at SM City Sta. Rosa from May 25 to 29.
