BANGKOK, Thailand - Nissan in Thailand today launched the new updated X-Trail at an event at the Link Asoke-Makkasan in Bangkok.

Enhancements to both the ICE and hybrid version – the first hybrid SUV in class – include the ability to activate the auto lift gate by foot – useful for both urban loads and outdoor activities and when traveling with lots of equipment and luggage. This update also brings a new A-IVI audio entertainment system, adding an additional luxurious and stylish touch.

Exterior highlights for all models include new body-colors. Roof rails and the signature panoramic sunroof – which offers a wide view of the outside world through its extended glass - are available on select models

"The launch of the new X-Trail once again underscores Nissan's commitment to meeting the needs of our valued Thai customers. When we launched our mid-term plan, M.O.V.E. to 2022, we committed to continue bringing the right vehicles in the right categories to Thailand and continue investing in skills development in Thailand and the region – helping support the government's Thailand 4.0 plan," said Antoine Barthes, president, Nissan Motor Thailand.

This launch followed those in 2018 for the Nissan GT-R, the super sports car, the all-new Nissan Terra, a premium SUV made in Thailand for South East Asia, the new Nissan Teana luxury sedan, and the price and specification announcement for the all-new Nissan LEAF, the world's best-selling full battery Electric Vehicle that will be available in Thailand from late April, Barthes added.

The X-Trail's Nissan Intelligent Mobility features are redefining the way people drive with advanced safety technologies to enhance intelligent driving. These include Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent Emergency Braking (FEB), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Moving Objection Detection (MOD) among others. All grades also feature Around View Monitor (AVM), a 360-degree aerial view of the X-Trail and its surrounds using four separate cameras located around the car.

"This combination of strength and versatility provides Thais the freedom of getting away on weekend escapes or planning longer holiday getaways while traveling safely - individually or with their families - in comfort and style," said Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, vice president of marketing, Nissan Motor Thailand. "This is the ideal vehicle for urban, suburban, or upcountry use."

The new X-Trail offers two engine choices - a 2.5L ICE version or the 2.0L Hybrid. The powerful 2.5 liter powertrain boasts 171 PS and 233 Nm of torque while the 2.0 liter hybrid engine delivers output of 144 PS and 200 Nm of torque along with the output from the electric motor of 41 PS plus 160 Nm of torque for the driving exhilaration.

The X-TRAIL's robust and dynamic character is enhanced by updated exterior styling thanks to a new front fascia with Nissan's signature "V-Motion" grille, along with integrated fog lamps, bumper, and revised signature LED Daytime Running Lights. Also added are a new rear bumper, and revised rear combination lamps with LED boomerang taillights, while new chrome-finished side door moldings complete the fresh new appearance. New 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels are also available with the 2.5VL 4WD models, rounding out the upscale look.

Six contemporary exterior colors are available: Monarch Orange, Radiant Red, Black Star, Storm White, Brilliant Silver, and Deep Iris Grey.

The X-Trail starts from 1,350,000 baht for the 2.5-liter model while the 2.0-liter hybrid model starts from 1,537,000 baht.
