MELBOURNE, Australia – Nissan Motorsport announced that Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) will become the Naming Rights partner of Andre Heimgartner and Aaren Russell’s #7 Nissan Altima entry ahead of this weekend’s Rabble.club Sandown 500.
ACE, based in Docklands VIC, is the largest and most advanced automotive training facility in the southern hemisphere. The relationship with Nissan Motorsport extends for many years where a number of automotive students work within the race team during their studies providing industry-based training alongside top level Australian Motorsport.
Nick Ryan, General Manager of Nissan Motorsport, highlighted the true benefits of this partnership: "Our association with Kangan Institute is vitally important for the industry and also mutually beneficial.
We have worked alongside @KanganInstitute for a number of years to help foster the next generation of motorsport specialists, so we're excited to reveal Kangan on @andreheimgartne's entry for this weekend. Read more: https://t.co/lnW6VwAhXo #Nissan #NISMO #VASC pic.twitter.com/qfDH1Gb277

Castrol Racing goes retro for Sandown
Nissan Motorsport and Castrol have embraced the Supercars retro round with Rick Kelly's Altima Supercar donning a classic 2002 Castrol Racing design for this weekend's Rabble.club Sandown 500 (September 14-16).
The iconic retro theme and a fan favourite pays tribute to the Castrol Perkins Racing entries of Russell Ingall, Steven Richards and Larry Perkins that competed across the 2002 V8 Supercars Championship.
The Castrol striking colors of red, green and white tic tac design scored a pair of podiums that year at the hands of Ingall and Richards.
The 2002 Castrol Racing livery has a strong emotional connection for Kelly who made his full-time Supercars debut in the same year.
"A lot of my memories of our sport are signposted by the Castrol cars that raced at that time", said the 2006 Supercars Champion.
Check out the classic @CastrolRacingAU livery that will be used by @rickkelly and @GarryJacobson's @Nissan Altima in this weekend's @Supercars retro round at the #Sandown500.

Team Harvey Norman goes retry for Sandown
Simona De Silvestroʼs Nissan Altima will wear a unique classic look for this weekendʼs retro round at the rabble.club Sandown 500.
Taking inspiration from race cars of the 1960ʼs, the #78 Team Harvey Norman entry will complete the first endurance race of the year in a distinctive new design.
"The car looks really cool,"said De Silvestro.
"Sandown is a lot of fun with the retro theme. Itʼs a very serious weekend with a lot of points on offer, but itʼs also something thatʼs a bit different. A racing stripe is always worth a few tenths, for sure."
Prior to this weekendʼs action, De Silvestro caught up with Harvey Norman founder and CEO, Gerry Harvey, to help get some retro tips.
"It's always great to chat with Gerry. Harvey Norman have been great partners to work with, plus Iʼve seen some old TV commercials, very retro! Harvey Norman are a brand that has been around for over 35 years, so theyʼve seen a lot of things in that time."
